Hey everyone! Just looking to become part of Rate Your Music as a label.
There are quite a few of our albums featured on this site already and we would like to be able to back up our artists with links and praise and all that good stuff!

Recession Recordings would like your help!

Recession Recordings is celebrating our one year anniversary on August 28, 2010.

Our operation costs are $75 per year. Our only employee and founder Brandon Starkweather pays all operating costs out of pocket.

On behalf of all of the artists at Recession Recordings, we would like to take a moment to ask for yor financial support so that we can continue another year with our efforts to promote underground and experimental electronic musicians.

We currently have more than a dozen full albums waiting to be released and we expect to grow from our current offering of 17 albums from 10 artists to more than 50 albums from 20 artists by the end of the year. But we need your help to make this happen. Our most pressing need is to raise $15 – that’s right – just $15 – by August 28 in order to renew our domain name.

Our goal is to raise at least $75 – this pays for all the fees associated with running the site for an entire year. This may seem like a paltry sum, but we strive to keep our operating costs as low as possible in order to make the site’s features accessable to artists and fans from every economic strata. Any money donated above and beyond $75 will allow us to release 12 albums within the next month. Additional funds may also be used to help our artists produce merchandise, print fliers, make physical copies of their releases, pay for traveling or touring expenses, or equipment rental or purchases.

We offer all releases as free downloads because our artists are in this for their own reasons – they are a crazy passionate group of people. Ideally Recession Recordings would like to make artist royalty payments. If you are interested in donating but you want to be sure how your money will be applied, feel free to contact us.

We appreciate help that you can offer in any amount – donations as low as $1 will help us reach our modest goal. We would like to offer something special for donors by making future releases available in advance, or by a personalized thank you audio track or video from our artists. Please let us know if you donate and are interested in a personal thank you.

I have been been making some tough decisions about my future (and have had to deal with some even tougher random situations so I have not had as much free time as I would like to develop Recession Recordings. However I am part of a group of artists who still need and appreciate the services we perform at Recession Recordings. That being said I have yet to fully develop one of the most important aspects of Recession Recordings! So starting today I am going to put up a page dedicated to featuring just download links to all our albums! It will take me a little while longer to finish out with the featured album and artist pages, but the consensus here is that we need our downloads! Rest assured all of our downloads are fully endorsed by everyone here <3 So thanks for paying attention to us here at RR and we will see you out there

A Note About Genres of Electronic Music

Does this sound familiar? No? Maybe I didn’t get enough sleep last night. It seems I have been thinking about Recession Recordings just a little too much these past few weeks. I have been caught up in changing the site and pretty much fly by the seat of my pants when it comes to forward movement. Anyway enough about me and more about you! That’s right I am featuring today a list our good friends over at Wiki have put together that might have some relevance to what we are trying to do here at Recession Recordings.

Recession Recordings 2.0

Hello there and let me be the first to welcome you to Recession Recordings 2.0!

We wanted to have more to offer everyone because we care about your musical needs.

Right now we are undergoing a lot of changes still. There are some upgrades planned and many connections have to be made and tested.

It is very important to me if you can spend 5 minutes to find something you like and something you don’t like and just send the info my way!

I am ready to “re-release” our albums that we had already offered before the upgrade.

I am making sure everything is formatted as well as possible before I let you see!

Make sure and keep a close watch on our twitter because that will be where all our updates and new releases will be featured!
